The canvas

Animated Film, on your wall

Your portrait is printed on canvas and wrapped around a wooden stretcher, the picture continuing over its edges. No ornate frame, nothing to assemble: it arrives ready to hang.

20 × 30 inches, shown in proportion above a sideboard.

The surface

A print on canvas, not oil paint: the texture of the canvas shows through the faces and the folds of fabric.

The edge

Gallery-wrapped: the picture carries on around the sides of the stretcher, so it needs no frame.

The back of a gallery-wrapped canvas: wooden stretcher bars with the canvas folded and stapled at the corner — 03

The back

Stretched over a wooden frame and finished neatly at the corners. It arrives ready to hang.

The story

Animated Film Inspired by Japanese animation · Contemporary

Hand-painted animated films have a look of their own: skies and fields painted like small landscapes, soft light, and faces drawn with a few gentle lines.

We borrow that calm and that light. Your portrait shows original characters based on the two of you, and does not copy any film, character or studio.

About this look

Where the look comes from

This look has no single painter or museum behind it. Here is how to recognise it, where it comes from and how we make yours.

Learning to see it

How to recognise it

Soft, watercolour-like painted backgrounds; big skies and green fields; gentle natural light; thin, delicate linework; calm faces with expressive eyes and a light blush. Sky blue, fresh green and warm gold.

Where it comes from

Feature animation in which every background is painted by hand, a tradition best known from Japan. The look has become a favourite way to picture quiet, everyday tenderness.

How we make yours

We draw the two of you in a quiet moment, a meadow, a seaside town or a train platform, as original characters with your features kept. Your portrait is a new work, made with AI and checked by a person. It does not copy any existing film, character or studio.

Your portrait is an original image of the two of you. It does not copy any existing film, poster, character, photograph or studio.
